Director’s bio:

Kira Muratova, a highly-regarded figure in the Eastern cinema, was known for her poetic and eccentric film style that has yet to receive the international recognition it deserves. Her filmography consists of twenty-two works produced between 1961 and 2012, which showcase her brilliant and acutely observant imagination. Despite her exceptional talent, Muratova faced significant censorship during the Soviet era due to her unconventional directorial approach. She spent most of her career in Odessa, working with local studios and casting actors from the region. She was born in 1934 in Soroca, Romania (now Moldova).
