CLASSICAL FILM SELECTION

ARIA

Based on a screenplay by Dumitru Olărescu, Aria is a cinematic exploration of the life and enduring legacy of Maria Cebotari, a distinguished soprano of the 1930s and 1940s, born in what is now the Republic of Moldova.
Integrating archival footage, music, and evocative visuals, the film transcends a standard biographical account, offering a lyrical meditation on voice, memory, and artistic impact. Instead of merely narrating a life, Aria captures the emotional and cultural resonance of a performer whose influence reverberates through generations.
