Registration required – please sign-up using this
The Film O’Clock INDUSTRY TALKS reflect the founding concepts of the Festival that’s built on international collaboration and respect for art films.
We cordially invite you to our meeting “Unveiling Cinematic Heritage” which will take place Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at 17:00 – 18:30 (GMT +2) via Zoom. The discussion will be moderated by the Romanian film critic Cristi Mărculescu and joined by members of our curatorial team.
What does our cinematic heritage consist of? How to carefully preserve it and find new approaches in order for the viewer to pay attention? These are the types of questions that we bring to the table. So how can we talk about increasing the audience’s appetite for “old” movies when having access to them is limited. We will talk about special screenings of archive films, the online initiatives of promoting archive films, and about film museums with in-person exhibitions. We hope for a fruitful conversation around all these questions in an ongoing effort to keep the dialogue regarding heritage films alive.
We are very honored to have brilliant speakers to share their experience and vision: Maria Komninos (president of the Greek Film Archive), Andrei Rus (film critic, associate professor at UNATC, Romania) – the Active Archive, Phaedra Vokali (General Director of the Hellenic Film Academy) – Motherland I See You project, Bogdan Movileanu (Curator, the Romanian National Archive) – Cinemateca Online, Markos Holevas (president of the Board of directors at the Greek Film Centre).
