Constantin Bălan is a distinguished painter, film director, and scenographer whose remarkable contributions have left an indelible mark on Moldovan animation and visual arts. A graduate of the Republican School of Fine Arts "Ilia Repin" in Chișinău, he has held numerous influential positions, including scenographer-director at the "Moldova-Film" Studio, artistic director at "Animafilm" Studio, and art editor for the magazine Ab Ovo. He also served as an associate professor at the Drawing Department of the "Ion Creangă" State Pedagogical University. Recognized as a pioneer of professional animation in the Republic of Moldova, Constantin Bălan has championed the development of a distinct national identity in animation. His visionary approach and creative excellence have shaped the miraculous universe of Moldovan animated cinema, making him an integral figure in its artistic evolution.
